As the name suggests, dial-up services are exactly that, they require the user to initiate a phone call to an Internet service provider to get the connection access, with the PC or laptop attached to a modem connected to a telephone line. Dial-up access is like a phone connection. Only, it is not people connected for a conversation but computers. The best thing with the dial-up access is that it uses telephone lines that means a good quality connection, and with the advancement of technology like Integrated Services Digital Network or ISDN and other innovation in Internet access, providing faster and easy access to the World Wide Web.

This type of Internet connection can be traced back its origins when telegraph is invented. With the advancement and enormous innovation in technology, the inventor Alexander Graham Bell came up the idea of the the telephone in 1875, affecting changes in people’s lives forever. To make the long story short, in 1979, modem was introduced to the world , giving us this so called “Dial-up Internet Connection”.
